Our Privacy Promise

Ubat.ca is built on student trust. Ubat.ca does not sell student personal information. Ubat.ca does not take enrolment commission from schools for sending students to programs. Advertising, sponsorships, paid listings, or partner placements do not give advertisers access to unrelated student personal information. When a user asks to be contacted by a school, advertiser, advisor, or service provider, Ubat.ca may share only the information reasonably needed to respond to that request.

Ubat.ca may collect personal information that users choose to provide, including name, email address, phone number, city/province/territory/country, student status, career interests, preferred healthcare programs, education background, work background, language preference, newcomer or international student interest (if voluntarily provided), appointment requests, school inquiry details, newsletter preferences, messages sent through forms or chatbot tools, and documents or files (only if an upload feature is offered). Ubat.ca may also collect technical and usage information including device type, browser type, IP address, general location, pages viewed, search terms, links clicked, forms started or submitted, downloads, newsletter engagement, advertising engagement, and cookie and analytics data.

How We Collect Information

Ubat.ca may collect information when users visit the website, create an account, submit a contact form, request program information, ask to be contacted by a school or service provider, book an appointment, subscribe to newsletters or alerts, download a checklist, guide, worksheet, or planner, use a chatbot, search tool, or recommendation tool, click on a listing, advertisement, or sponsored placement, register for a webinar or event, contact Ubat.ca by email or form, or use Ubat.ca on any device. We may also receive limited information from service providers that help us operate the platform.

How We Use Personal Information

Ubat.ca may use personal information to respond to user questions, send requested career/program/funding information, manage appointment requests, connect users with selected schools or service providers, send newsletters and updates where permitted, improve website content and user experience, recommend relevant healthcare career or training options, measure school listing and advertising performance, understand student interests and website usage, improve search results and program navigation, prevent spam/fraud/misuse and security risks, provide user support, manage advertiser and partner inquiries, comply with legal obligations, and protect Ubat.ca, users, students, advertisers, schools, and service providers.

Student Inquiries and Sharing With Schools or Service Providers

When a user asks to be contacted by a school, college, training provider, advertiser, advisor, employer, settlement provider, financial provider, insurance provider, or other listed service provider, Ubat.ca may share the submitted information with that provider. This may include name, email address, phone number, location, program interest, career interest, appointment request, and message or question submitted by the user. The provider may then contact the user directly. Third-party providers are responsible for how they handle personal information after they receive it and must follow applicable privacy, anti-spam, advertising, professional, and consumer protection laws.

Appointment Data

If a user books or requests an appointment through Ubat.ca, we may collect contact details, requested service, preferred appointment time, selected school/advisor/provider, notes provided by the user, appointment status, and follow-up communication. Appointment information may be used to schedule, confirm, manage, improve, and support the appointment process. Users should not submit sensitive legal, immigration, medical, financial, identity, or confidential documents unless Ubat.ca clearly states the feature is designed for that purpose.

Newsletter and Email Data

Users may choose to receive emails from Ubat.ca, including healthcare career updates, program alerts, funding and bursary information, scholarship notices, student tools, webinar invitations, event updates, platform news, sponsored or partner content, and relevant advertiser updates. Users may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting privacy@ubat.ca. Some service-related messages may still be sent, such as appointment confirmations, account notices, security alerts, transactional messages, or legal updates.

Cookies, Analytics, Pixels, and Advertising Tools

Ubat.ca may use cookies, pixels, tags, analytics tools, advertising tools, and similar technologies. These tools may help us remember user preferences, improve website performance, understand how users move through the website, measure page views/clicks/downloads/form activity, improve career and program recommendations, measure advertiser and listing performance, show more relevant content and advertising, and protect the platform from fraud, spam, and misuse. Users can manage cookies through their browser settings or through available cookie tools on Ubat.ca. More information is available in our Cookie Notice.

Chatbot and Automated Tools

Ubat.ca may use chatbot tools, automated search tools, recommendation tools, artificial intelligence tools, or similar features. Information entered into these tools may be used to provide responses, support user requests, improve platform quality, improve search and recommendation features, detect misuse or security issues, and understand common student questions. Automated tools may make mistakes or provide incomplete information. Users should verify important information directly with schools, regulators, government agencies, employers, or licensed professionals before making decisions.

Advertiser and Partner Information

Ubat.ca may collect business contact information from schools, advertisers, sponsors, employers, service providers, agencies, and partners including business name, contact name, job title, email address, phone number, business address, website, program or service information, advertising inquiry details, billing or account information, and campaign performance information. This information may be used to manage listings, advertising, sponsorships, partnerships, billing, reporting, compliance, and communication.

Payment Information

If Ubat.ca accepts payments from advertisers, sponsors, schools, service providers, or users, payment processing may be handled by a third-party payment provider. Ubat.ca does not store full credit card numbers unless a secure and compliant payment system is in place. Payment providers have their own privacy and security practices.

Third-Party Service Providers

Ubat.ca may use trusted third-party providers to operate and improve the platform, including providers for website hosting, cloud storage, email delivery, newsletters, analytics, appointment scheduling, advertising technology, customer support, payment processing, security and fraud prevention, chatbot or artificial intelligence tools, and professional services such as legal, accounting, or technical support. These providers may access limited personal information only as needed to provide services to Ubat.ca.

Storage Inside or Outside Canada

Ubat.ca operates from Canada, but some service providers may store or process information in Canada, the United States, or other countries. When information is stored or processed outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of that country. Ubat.ca uses reasonable safeguards when working with service providers that store or process information.

How We Protect Personal Information

Ubat.ca uses reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect personal information. These may include secure website connections, access controls, password protection, limited staff or contractor access, data minimization, service provider review, security monitoring, internal privacy procedures, and reasonable retention and deletion practices. No website, email system, database, or online service can be guaranteed 100% secure. Users should protect their own devices, passwords, email accounts, and personal information.

How Long We Keep Information

Ubat.ca keeps personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required for legal, business, tax, accounting, security, dispute, or compliance reasons. Student inquiry records may be kept to manage follow-up and service quality. Newsletter data may be kept until the user unsubscribes or asks for deletion, subject to legal limits. Appointment records may be kept for scheduling, support, and dispute management. Advertiser and partner records may be kept for business, billing, legal, and reporting purposes. Analytics data may be kept in aggregated or non-identifying form. When information is no longer needed, Ubat.ca will delete, anonymize, or securely archive it where reasonable.

User Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law, users may have the right to ask what personal information Ubat.ca has about them, request access to their personal information, ask for corrections, withdraw consent where legally allowed, unsubscribe from marketing emails, request deletion (subject to legal and business limits), ask how information has been used or shared, and make a privacy complaint. Withdrawing Consent

Users may withdraw consent for certain uses of personal information, subject to legal, contractual, security, and business limits. For example, users may unsubscribe from marketing emails or ask Ubat.ca to stop certain communications. If a user withdraws consent, some Ubat.ca services may no longer be available. Withdrawing consent does not affect information already used or shared before the withdrawal.

Children and Minors

Ubat.ca is designed mainly for students, adults, newcomers, career changers, schools, advertisers, and service providers. If a user is under the age of majority in their province or territory, they should use Ubat.ca with support from a parent, guardian, school, or advisor. Ubat.ca does not knowingly collect personal information from young children without appropriate consent. If a parent or guardian believes a child has submitted personal information without consent, they may contact privacy@ubat.ca.

Sensitive Personal Information

Some information may be sensitive, including immigration status, financial need, health-related documents, identity documents, legal information, or personal family circumstances. Ubat.ca asks users not to submit sensitive documents or highly personal information unless clearly needed for a specific service and Ubat.ca has explained how it will be handled. If sensitive information is collected, Ubat.ca will use reasonable safeguards and limit use to the purpose for which it was provided.

No Sale of Personal Information

Ubat.ca does not sell student personal information. Ubat.ca may earn revenue from advertising, sponsored listings, school profiles, service provider profiles, partner placements, newsletters, appointment tools, and other commercial services. This does not mean Ubat.ca sells student data. If a user chooses to contact a listed school, advertiser, or service provider through Ubat.ca, we may share the submitted information only so the provider can respond to that request.

Legal, Government, and Safety Disclosure

Ubat.ca may disclose personal information if required or permitted by law, including to comply with a court order, law, regulation, or legal process; respond to lawful government or regulatory requests; protect the rights, safety, and property of Ubat.ca; prevent fraud, spam, cyberattacks, or misuse; investigate complaints or policy violations; or protect students, users, advertisers, service providers, or the public.

Business Transfers

If Ubat.ca is sold, merged, financed, reorganized, or transferred, personal information may be included as part of the business assets. In that case, Ubat.ca will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information remains protected and used for appropriate purposes.

Third-Party Websites

Ubat.ca may link to schools, colleges, universities, private training providers, government websites, regulators, employers, advertisers, settlement agencies, funding sources, and other third-party websites. Ubat.ca is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, services, contracts, fees, or actions of third-party websites. Users should read the privacy policy of each third-party website before submitting personal information.

Provincial, Territorial, and Federal Privacy Laws

Ubat.ca operates from British Columbia and serves users across Canada. Privacy laws may vary by province or territory. This Privacy Policy is intended to support compliance with applicable British Columbia, Canadian federal, provincial, and territorial privacy requirements. Nothing in this Privacy Policy removes any mandatory privacy rights that users may have under applicable law.

Privacy Breaches

If Ubat.ca becomes aware of a privacy breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will take reasonable steps to contain, investigate, and respond to the incident. Where required by law, Ubat.ca may notify affected users, regulators, service providers, or other parties. Users should contact privacy@ubat.ca immediately if they believe their account or personal information has been misused.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Ubat.ca may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on Ubat.ca with a new Last Updated date. If the changes are important, Ubat.ca may provide additional notice, such as a website notice or email notice.
